    WHIPPOORWILL DRIVE WILL BE CLOSED FOR PAVING ON MONDAY MORNING, JULY 24, BETWEEN 8:30 AM AND 12:00 PM – from the bottom of Woodland Way to the intersection at Gravel Lane.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

    The Refresh-Restore Romney Committee is having their first Community Clean-Up event on Saturday, July 29 at 8:00 am.  Anyone interested in helping brighten up our town just in time for the Annual Peach Festival, will be welcome with open arms, shovels and rakes!  We will meet at 8:00 am at City Hall, break into groups and head downtown to clean up some area that are in need of some TLC!  Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be provided.  For additional information, please contact Nancy Merritt at 301-268-0680 or email info@CityofRomney.com.  Anyone who is unable to participate in the event on Saturday, but is interested in contributing to the effort, may make donations at City Hall, 340 E. Main Street, Romney, West Virginia.

    STREET PAVING 2017
    Street paving in Romney will begin on Monday, July 10, weather permitting.    Please see the attached notice regarding paving schedule.  We ask that you do not park your vehicles along the streets being paved between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, on their scheduled paving day.  Click here the paving schedule.
    BROWN-BAG HISTORY LUNCH
    The Romney Historic Landmark Commission will be hosting its first Brown-Bag History Lunch on Thursday, July 13 at 12:00 noon.  The featured guest speaker will be Norwood Haines.  Bring a lunch and hear about the good ole’ days!

    City Hall will be closing at noon today, July 3, 2017 in observance of Independence Day.  Those needing to attend court may use the rear entrance at City Hall.
